Can I use this plugin to collect recurring payment/subscription?

    Hello, Please I have a question about these plugin cause I’m confused on how paid membership pro woocommerce add-on is working, please if I use this plugin to sell membership level using woocommerce does paid membership pro will keep tracking the membership level and lock the users out from viewing the protected content at the end of the month and display a message as a non membership users which the user will need to repurchase the membership level? Because I want to offer monthly and annual subscription using paid membership pro with woocommerce.

    Hi there, thank you for reaching out to Paid Memberships Pro.

    This integration relies on Woocommerce handling the payments – once an order is marked as completed, a membership level is assigned to the user that bought it.

    All payments and order history is handled via Woocommerce when using this Add On. Note that you would need to use a third-party plugin such as Woocommerce Subscriptions to accept recurring payments through Woo.

    If payments are accepted via PMPro, then you won’t need this Add On as all payments go through PMPro (once off and recurring) and the membership level is given to the user as soon as a successful payment goes through.

    You didn’t understand my point, I understand that paid membership pro required subscription plugin to collect recurring payment via woocommerce, my point is that when the user purchase the membership subscription product after the monthly subscription expired does paid membership pro will lock the protected content? Or they will still continue to used it because the membership level is already assigned to the member?

    @akpae5 as soon as woocommerce subscription expires pmpro membership will also stop working as I am using woocommerce addon from few months.

    Yes, as soon as their subscription expires they lose access to the content on your site. They’ll gain access to the content again after signing up again, or just not lose it at all if their subscription is recurring and the renewal goes through without any issues.
