• hi in my site I want a ‘columnists’ page. Columnists are different from the regular authors in that when i click ‘columnists’ on the menu a page will appear with only the columnist articles showing their avatars beside the title, meta and excerpt. When one clicks the avatar or columnist name it will show the archive to that columnists’ articles.

The archive for the regular authors will just be your normal ‘latest post’ archive list with no avatars and show the featured image of the post along with title, meta and excerpt.

can i select only some authors to display meta and avatars but none for the rest? thank you!

    Hi @ghmercado

If there’s not a lot of users who are “columnists” you could use the “include” parameter.

    Example: [authors_list include="10,20,30,40"]

So it’s a list of IDs of the users/authors you want to show separated by comma. In the example above the users/authors with the ID of 10, 20, 30 and 40 will show up, noone else.

thanks i tried it on elementor but it doesn’t seem to work when displaying alongside other elements, although it works on a page if its on its own.

    Hi @ghmercado

Just tried with Elementor (in the Shortcode element) and it works.

Are you using the Shortcode element for that?

What do you see when you add the shortcode, does it just show the shortcode in plain text or does it show authors but does not show only the ones you want?
