Can I use the wp_users table in a Perl script?

I’d like to write a Perl script that would use the WordPress users table for authentication – is there an easy way to do the same encryption algorithm as WordPress uses in Perl? All of my passwords are 34 characters long and begin with P$B$, if that helps – thanks!
