Can I use the word ‘wordpress’ in my domain name.?

    Hi dear WP team.
    I am a WordPress developer with more than 4 years of experience. Now I am going to create a blog on WordPress topic, So I have selected the domain name [ domain name removed ]

    I want to know if it is okay to use the word ‘WordPress’ in the domain. My entire blog will be on WordPress code tutorials so that’s why I have selected ‘howtoinwordpress.com’ that can be more friendly to the topic.

    As you can see that word WordPress has a three words prefix, like ‘how’, ‘to’ and ‘in’. Still, before setting up the WordPress website for blogging on this domain, I want to confirm if there is any objection against it.

    If you do not allow me to use this domain then I will not use this and I will remove it from my account, you do not need to take any action against it.

    No, as you’d be violating trademark. And as you’ve already done it lose that like the plague.

    Seriously, don’t do it, don’t think of doing it. That’s a trademark and it is enforced and there’s been cases where legal people have been engaged.

    Okay., thank you for clearing the point., I just was wanting the SEO friendly domain. But now as I know that it is not legal, so, I will remove this domain from my hosting account this evening.

    But just clear one more thing that can I use the words ‘wpress’ or ‘wp’ in the domain for blogging purpose.?

    Yea totally, the only restriction is the word “wordpress”

    Using wpress or wp is perfectly fine.
