Can I Use Same Email Address I Used In Wp.com?

  • I am very seriously considering using wp.org for a blog I recently started in wp.com. This is because I experienced nothing but barriers when I tried to set up the new blog in wp.com. I can explain further if required but for now am keeping this question as simple as possible.

    Before I make the commitment of buying myself a web address URL of my own to set up here with wp.org, and before I go and download the wp.org software I want to make sure and ask an expert here whether setting up and establishing a blog using wp.org “can” be done using the same email address I’ve used previously in wp.com blogs?

    Any answer you can give will be very gratefully received.

  • not sure what you are getting at exactly…but your email add. has nothing to do with setting up the blog software other than that is where admin emails are sent
    unless I’m missing something, you can use any valid email add. you choose

    1. wp.com is for blogging
    2. wp.org is the source for the software for the self hosted blogging WordPress software. Also for other resources e.g. plugins, themes, documentation, codex etc.
