Can I use Rank Math on a sub-directory of same site to the same Google Analytics account, as I do not want the main domain and sub-directory separated?

It is my understanding that Google sees sub-directories as part of the same site, and that IS what I want and have installed, rather than using a sub-domain.

If I cannot link Rank Math to the same Google Analytics account inside the sub-directory, can Rank Math still create a sitemap for that sub-directory?

Why is the Rank Math sitemap URL not displaying any pages in the main domain when I have turned on the Sitemap option and was provided with a URL?

    Hello @trible,

    Thank you for contacting support.

If you have a WordPress installation on that sub-directory you can definitely use the Analytics module there connected to the property you want, and our plugin will display the data based on the URLs that belong to the WordPress installation (sub-directory).

Regarding the sitemap, our plugin can also generate a sitemap for the sub-directory without any issues.

Last but not least, to troubleshoot the missing items from the sitemap, please make sure that you have the pages set to index and without a custom canonical otherwise they would be removed from the sitemap.

If that doesn’t help, please follow the steps here to re-generate the sitemap:
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    That should fix the issue.

Please let us know if that does not. We are here to assist.

Sadly, neither tip worked to restore the sitemap.

    Hello @trible,

We mentioned above that the sitemap can be generated for the sub-directory as well, but it seems that you are referring to the missing elements from the main domain.

Those would only be added to the sitemap if the Rank Math installation was on a WordPress installation on the main domain.

This is the default behavior of the plugin.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
