I wouldn’t; use a plain text editor.

If you make a mistake and cut and paste, you’ll be in editing HECK for a long time on that post. Saving it as a plain text is the right way to go but you’ll lose any formatting.

Take a look at using Live Writer, that might work out easier/better for you.

Sorry – but that’s ridiculous. You don’t WANT to say formatting in a non-text editor – that’s what breaks WP in the first place. A plain text editor is the way to go and let the style sheet take care of how it looks. If absolutely necessary, you can always use inline CSS or html tags to further format text.

Using something as elaborate as Word or whatever to write posts and then saving as text is silly when you can just use Notepad or one of the dozens of free plain text editors and just paste the whole lot in without any worries.

Inline CSS is, as it says, CSS code that is entered directly into text, rather than on the stylesheet. Inline code will always overwrite what the stylesheet says. Jusy do a simple websearch to find examples and possible uses.

Re the Word docs … yes – pasting into a plain text editor SHOULD remove extraneous characters so you can copy and paste, but no guarantee – I’ve seen it happen. You could always use the “find and replace” function in a text editor to remove any artifacts and then re-copy and paste it to a post. In the future – do your work directly into Notepad or another editor and save a lot of effort.

Ya. I know. That’s why I said “I wouldn’t; use a plain text editor” as in I would not use Word (embedded formatting bad, plain jane ASCII good) I would use a plain text editor.

Word is just not worth the effort as the built in editor or even notepad is usually better.

Now Saurus, don’t make ask which is the best theme/plugin/car/editor! ??
