Can I update OceanWP theme to the newest version?

  • Hello, my website is under elementor and oceanwp theme. The theme instruct me to update the theme. But it may lost my formal settings. Could you tell me if I can update the theme? Urgent. Thank you for your advise in advance.

    If you didn’t customize the theme and didn’t add any code to the functions.php file, then update it. Be sure you have a full backup before updating the theme/plugins so that you can easily recover the site if anything goes wrong.

    I didn’t change the codes and with today’s update, most of my images gone. Can you advise if this is very important to update the theme to the newest version or better don’t update if the site is working correctly?

    If you advise updating can you advise how to update without breaking the site?

    It is important to update the theme to enhance site performance, security and bug fixes. Try to use the child theme instead of directly editing the main theme files. Create a staging site and test things there before implement it on the live site to avoid any bad situation. I checked your site and all the images are working fine.

    Yes, now they are after I have restored my backup ?? I will do it by the child theme then. Amit thank you for fast (as always help) ??
