Can I speed up the time between registration and sync?

The last update improves on this a little in that it reduces the delay but if you want this to run every 5 minutes then you should set-up a cron schedule that fires the following action at a set interval.

By far the simplest way is to set-up a cronjob on your server that hits the /wp-cron.php file every 5 minutes. Depending on your server this can be done from Cpanel / DirectAdmin or by using the following setting.

*/5 * * * * php -q /path/to/your/site/wp-cron.php
