Can I select which images show the credit?

It inserts a shortcode for every image (unless the “No default credits” option is set, then only for those images that have explicit freeform credits), but you can of course remove the shortcode from the post.

I assume this has been resolved.

Has your usecase been covered by my answer or did you have something else in mind? I was not quite clear on on the intended workflow.

I want to add visible photographer credits only for some photo albums where photographers will feature their work, but not sitewide on pages and posts. So, I think your plugin will work for me if I can set the no default credits. Thank you!
