Can I safely delete all localhost contents
-
First time user, please excuse the beginner level questions. I developed my first site ever on localhost (using XAMPP) and successfully deployed to the web. My hosting provider does regular backups. In addition, I am also using the UpdraftPlus plugin to back up “everything” on demand (database and files and who knows whatever else).
I have a two part question:
(1) Given that I’m now live on the web, can someone in the know confirm that I could now safely delete my *local MySQL database? And all delete all my local files (I believe the path is c:\xampp\htdocs)? And for that matter, uninstall XAMPP entirely? I would assume the answer is yes, but I’m a newbie so don’t want to make potentially dangerous assumptions.
(2) I may develop another site, and I may start by doing it locally again. I was thinking of doing what I asked in (1) above, and starting over with a clean XAMPP & local WordPress install. I have no idea if this is best practice or if there is a better recommended way. Would really appreciate some guidance here.
Thank you ??
