Can I return the file name somehow?

Hi,

I have put the [wordpress_file_upload] shortcode on a single page. When the user uploads a file I want to be able to save the filename to a custom user field I have set up (e.g. “user_uploaded_filename”. Is there a way to do that please?

Or at the very least can I just get the uploaded filename returned to the server-side somehow so I can do something with it?
