    Hi,
I need to restore a plugin to its version from yesterday morning (but at the same time need to keep orders, subscriptions and user info as they are today). Can I use UpdraftPlus to restore only “Plugins” (and NOT restore “Themes”, “Uploads”, “Others” and “Database”) and will this result in the orders, subscriptions and user info remaining untouched/not be restored to yesterdays status? I read somewhere else that order and user info is stored in the database so it sounds like this approach should work.
    Thank you.

    P.S.:
I did find another thread here from 2 years and 8 months ago on a similar question (How to restore without losing new user data?) but it did not talk about only restoring “Plugins”. So I am still wondering if this is possible. For me as a non-coder, exporting and importing user data sounds a bit more complicated and I am worried something will go wrong.

    Hi,

Yes, you can restore individual component. If you restore the plugin component only this will replace all the plugins that is currently installed with the ones in the backup. Any data like posts, pages, plugin and theme settings, these are all stored in the database. Sometimes, you will need to also restore the database together with the theme/plugin if there are some settings that were changed after to the backup was made.

    Thanks,

    Hi @bcrodua,

Thank you for your reply. You said “Any data like posts, pages, plugin and theme settings, these are all stored in the database.” But you did not mention orders, subscriptions or user info. Can you confirm that orders, subscriptions and user info are not stored in the “plugins” component? So when I restore only the “plugins” component, orders, subscriptions, and user info will not be restored?

    Many thanks,
    Julia?

These items are all stored in the DB (not the plugins)
