Can I Restore Database to A Different Theme

    hello,

    I need to replace my theme with another theme due to lack of support from the author of my current theme. But I have created many categories and sub-categories 4-levels deep using the current theme, and I would hate to have to start all over again. So my question is this – can I successfully restore my database backup (using the Updraft Plus plugin) to my new WooCommerce theme without breaking the new theme?

    Hi there,

    WooCommerce product categories are completely independent of the WordPress theme that is active. Changing the theme should not have any effect on categories or sub-categories. We also recommend using a staging site when testing big changes on your site.
