Can I replace failing Danish characters?

  • Hi, my website has unfortunately replaced all of the special Danish characters ?????? to things like ?￥ and similar

    I have tried to use this plugin to convert all the characters back, but it seems not to work. I am honestly not very familiar with coding or databases on any level, so could someone please guide me to get the right characters back?

  • Hi @anneheinze,
    In your case, please try:
    – Before doing anything, backup your database first just in case,
    Go to Tools -> Search&Replace -> select Backup Database -> click Create SQL file -> after that, click Download SQL file.

    – Next. go to Tools -> Search&Replace -> select Search&Replace tab -> in Search for field and Replace with: , input your character you want to find and replace occasionlly -> In Replace tables, just click button elect all tables -> Untick Dry run -> Export SQL file or write changes to DB? -> tick Save changes to Database to make changes to your database-> click Do Search&Replace
