    Hi:

Thank you for your great plugin!

Question: is it possible to place the button that comes with the plugin inside a specific div? If I use the shortcode it puts the entire menu in the div – I don’t want that.

I have been able to use the button > advanced > trigger with relative positioning to put MY button where I want it, but not the plugin’s button.

When using the plugin’s button, if I select relative positioning it just disappears. If I select “fixed” and specify a div under the advanced > trigger option I get the plugin’s button AND my button – but the plugin’s button doesn’t trigger the menu.

So IOW if I want to be able to place the button in a specific place in the theme layout must I use my own button?

    Thank You!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

ALSO, if I MUST use my own button, does that render all the other settings on the Button page null? Except for selecting “relative” vs. “fixed”?

    Thanks.

    Hey there,

Thanks for the kind words! As you say, using the shortcode will put the whole content inside a specific div and you can’t separate them..

However as long as you have the button set to relative then this shouldn’t affect how the menu itself is displayed but will do for the button.

Please let me know if that helps.

Thanks for replying – just to be very clear: I CANNOT place the plugin’s default button inside a specific div?

I want to be able to use your button to trigger the menu even at the largest screensize so I have the breakpoint set at 8000. BUT in my design page content is centered on screen, and has a max-width of 1200px. I’d like the menu button to stay inside that 1200px – say 20px from top, 30px from right side. That doesn’t appear to be doable through the standard settings.

Is it doable through custom CSS?

    Thank You!

    Hey there,

Why can’t you place the button inside a specific div, that’s exactly what the shortcode was built for or do you have a limitation on your themes side that is stopping that?

Fixed width sites are a problem with responsive designs because of this exact issue you mention.

What is the reason you can’t put the shortcode inside the container and then set the button to relative?

    Please advise

Thank you again! OK, if I set the shortcode in the div, but set the button to relative then the button SHOULD appear where I place it but the menu itself should NOT open in that div, right? I’m talking about the plugin’s button.

Above you said: “As you say, using the shortcode will put the whole content inside a specific div and you can’t separate them.”

Are you saying that setting the button to relative should allow me TO separate them?

    Hey there,

Yeah that is correct as the menu itself will still be fixed so will slide from the side of the page not it’s container.

You can separate them in the sense of how they are displayed on the page but not the actual HTML but it doesn’t sound like you care about that so it should work for your needs.

Please let me know how you get on.

    SUCCESS!!

I had to reset options and then I was able to place the shortcode in a div, set the button to relative and it worked.

The button is where I want it – the default plugin button – and the menu is opening properly, outside the div.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! and have a terrific weekend!

    Hey there,

Excellent! Glad it worked for you and wasn’t too much trouble ??

Have a great weekend and if you could leave a nice review it’d be nice as I’ve been receiving a few negative ones recently ??

If not it’s no problem, have a good one!
