• My blog is at https://www.softerware.net/blog
    I’d like to move it up to the root directory (www.softerware.net) and have it as my homepage. I have a few entries but nothing too important.
    Is the easiest way to just reinstall it?
    Is there a way to backup the db and then import it after re-install?
    I did do a search in the forums but didn’t see anything come up, so I apologize if this is a repeat.
    Thanks,
    Ron

  • I use PHP includes. It works fine for me.

    <?php include ('/root/to/your/wp/directory/') ?>

    Or, move all the files to root, maintaining the overall structure, then use phpmyadmin to alter the ‘site_url’ and ‘home’ values in the table ‘wp_options’

    That won’t make it so that we can’t log in?

    I can’t log in right now, anyway.

    Where is the “home” setting in PHPMyAdmin for this database structure/info/whatever it’s called? In Options I have blogfilename, is that actually it?

    Hm. It didn’t move over my template. And I can’t log in to either!

    Ahhhhh!!! Perhaps it’s Cute FTP’s fault. My Archives FOLDER was moved, but NOTHING INSIDE of it. ??
