Can I learn with WordPress.COM, then use this software?

  • My intention is to create a blog, using the www.remarpro.com software application, hosted on hostgator.
    I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to learn which (free, ideally) theme is the most customizable, adn have been downloading/using the options on wordpress.COM, and am starting to suspect I’m approaching htis wrong :/

    If I find a theme I like on wordpress.com, will I be able to setup via this software, on hostgator, with the same theme?

    not exactly – the same themes (free or commercial) for WordPress.org are different from the ones at WordPress.com

    the WordPress.com ‘versions’ have often more theme options and customisation options;

    many of those integrated functionalities need to be added via plugins for www.remarpro.com themes.
