Can I install the rewrite rules manually in the Apache vhost config?

    I’d like to manually add the rewrite rules to my server’s virtual host configs rather than using a .htaccess file. Will the plugin complain if it is unable to add its rules to the .htaccess file?

    It seems to work fine, I just tried it.
