Can I include HTML tags in "Biographical Info"?

  • I’d like to include links to our website staff profiles in the “About the Author” boxes following each post, but the “Biographical Info” section seems to strip the tags. Anyone know how I can include a link in the “About the Author” box?

    Thanks for the suggestion. I looked around, however, and I can’t find where to do this. I entered an author’s link in his user’s Contact Info web page field, but this did not present anything on the front-end. You must be referencing a different place… Can you point me to it?

    Try looking in the User Profiles for the bio information. Then you’ll need to amend the template for the staff profiles page to use some of the author tags.

    Okay… sounds like I need to edit author.php to insert the URL link from the User Profile into the Author Description. That makes sense. I am not a coder, though, so the php is a complete mystery to me… Any recommendation on how I can do the above? I am willing to learn/read, but I have trouble knowing where the right education source is. Help?

    Have you had a look at Author_Templates – especially the second half of that page?
