Can I have the same funtion name in 2 different plugins?

I find some functions in a plugin is quite useful, so I copy/pasete them into one of my own plugins.

Seems they are working without conflictions. but I want to make sure there won’t be ghost come out somewhere in the future ??

Would anyone help me understand this?
