Can I have a staging site with different version of WordPress

    Hi support,

    I noticed when creating a staging site, it’s recommended to share the same database. My question is that can I have a different version of the WordPress site? Because I notice, sometimes WordPress asks for updating the database when upgrading a certain version.

    It is not possible to select WordPress versions when creating a staging site unfortunately, as the staging site is always a clone of your live site, it has the same version of WP as your live site.
    However, you can install a different version of WordPress on the staging site once it is created to test it, that’s also where a staging site comes from.
