Can I have a merged field in a donation confirmation page?

The way to do this is to customize the [give_receipt] shortcode template:

You can see how the name is pulled from the $user array on line 30:

You can create a new variable that just pulls the user’s first name and output that somewhere in the template along with your custom message.
