I’m not sure what you mean by your “whole custom sidebar widget”, nor do you explain what went wrong. There is a bug in version 1.3.1 which causes the show/hide indicators to misbehave if “Hide Others” is selected. I recommend that you use the latest version which at the time of writing is 1.3.2.
