Can I fork or still use this plugin?

Hey @modemlooper and wordpress folks,
This plugin (BuddyPress Verified) was a great plugin when I was using it on my sites. Now it is gone, without even a warning.
I want to ask if I can fork this plugin (even rename it if I have to) and keep it updated so I and others can use it?
