can I edit the success message?

I didn’t see a way to change the success message, but I used the confirmation e-mail (which is editable) to provide a link to my free PDF download. Hope that helps!

While the plugin does allow you to edit the success message (through editing .po files), it does not currently support the inclusion of HTML (like a link). So in this case, the best bet would be to either use Swami’s suggestion of adding a link to the confirmation email or to consider using the MailChimp embed code instead, which will provide an alternative interaction of redirecting the subscriber, rather than keeping them on the same page. In doing so, you can then add the link to your PDF/gift on the ‘Confirmation Thank You Page’.
