Can I do a restore via ftp?

    Is it possible to use my hosts cpanel file manager or ftp to do a restore?

    I just deleted some files using wordfence and the site is basically down now. I can’t log into the backend. All links lead to the WP setup page like its a fresh install. But, all the files are old files are still there view them via the cpanel file manager.

    Hi,

    Yes, you can restore UpdraftPlus backups manually via the file manager or FTP.

    UpdraftPlus backup files are standard zip archives, so can be unpacked with any Zip utility. You can then restore the contents via FTP/File Manager by uploading them to the relevant folder in the ‘wp-content’ directory.
