can I disconnect/connect while site ‘under construction’ or maintenance mode?

    Am changing temp (new site) URL to ‘correct’ (old site) URL that has jetpack active, soon.
    Was told to wait until temp URL changed to ‘correct’ URL to start process of disconnect on ‘old’ site and then reconnect jetpack on ‘new’ site.
    I have both sites under construction/maintenance mode signs. Will that be a problem?
