    Hello,

There wasn’t a single week that went by without at least 1 if not more Yoast SEO plugin updates. I became concerned it was getting out of hand and researched a replacement.

I found The SEO Framework and it seemed to do all I require. Installed and migrated using the migration tool plugin and deactivated then deleted the Yoast SEO plugin. Everything looks great. Well happy.

However, I’ve found thousands of entries in my database with the prefix _yoast, mostly in _postmeta table.

Can you confirm it is OK to delete these now? I am assuming the tool copied all this content and put it inside SEO Frameworks own database tables?

    Hi Andy,

I’m glad you’re happy with the plugin ??

That’s correct, the tool copied the rows from the database and inserted new ones which TSF recognizes. So, yes, you can safely remove those rows.

Do keep a backup ready, just in case. Cheers!

Thanks. It would be nice if the tool cleaned up the old Yoast database which contains thousands of entries but I appreciate you might be cautious of deleting stuff ??

Yes, but it would be unwise of the tool to do so; some entries are shared between plugins and themes.

To ease your mind, in the case of Yoast vs. TSF: there are no overlapping entries.

    Cheers!
