• Hi,

I am using the twentyten theme on wordpress 3.0.3. I have a made a nu,ber of modifications over the last few days. And now we have 3.0.4. I never created the child theme before. Can I create one now? Or does one have to do it before making any modifications?

  • The first thing to do is make a backup copy of the theme.

If you can identify all the places you have changed, you can make a child theme and copy all changed modules into it before you upgrade. Get the child theme working before you upgrade.

After the upgrade, if you discover some change that was lost, get it from the backup.

You will find information on how to create child theme here
