Can I clone site without using installer.php?

  • Hi, I’ve been using Duplicator for a couple years now and am very happy with it. I can build sites for clients and clone a few versions to try out various themes.

    Last year I made a copy of a site which I then moved to another hosting. I have lost the installer.php file, but I do have the zip file of the content.

    Is there a way I can use this content to reinstall the site? I have my db ready, but no installer.php. I unfortunately don’t have access to the site to recreate a copy. I did search but haven’t found anyone having this issue.

  • Hey @styzer,

    You might be able to create a new package and then grab the newly generated installer file and try to run it with your package. I would at least try to pair up with the correct version. The developer tab has a link to all the older versions if you need them.

    You may have to crack open the installer file and adjust some settings. It should be possible but it will require some manual adjustments….
