    Hi there,

I love this theme! It works really well with my site. Thank you ??

I just want to change the orange colour to a pink. Can you please advise? I am a relative novice to this, but have managed to do this with another theme using custom CSS. This doesn’t seem to work with button though…

I also want to remove the button images. I think you may have already advised how to do this on a previous post, so sorry for the repetition.

    Any help appreciated!

    Ta.

  • Can you post a link to your site? Also, can you post a link to a page that shows the button images you’re trying to remove?

    yes of course

The buttons are on the main page alonside the widget headings.

    Thanks.

You’ve got a “coming soon” plugin active, so I can’t see your site. But based on the demo, I think this CSS from this paste ought to do the trick: https://pastebin.com/JSpH4WxC

Don’t edit your theme’s stylesheet directly, as you’ll lose those changes if the theme is ever updated in the future, to fix bugs or security issues or to add new features. Instead, you should either use a child theme or a custom CSS plugin.

Ooops! Sorry, I forgot to save changes when I disabled the coming soon plug in. I did say I was a novice. The site is open now though.

Thanks Stephen. I’ll give that a try.

It didn’t work. I pasted it into the Simple Custom CSS plug in, but no change.

I don’t see the code on your site. Were there any errors when you used the plugin? I wasn’t aware you were using a child theme; you could also copy the code into your child theme’s stylesheet.

Yes, I am using a child theme as I read all the warnings about modifying the parent theme. I’ll try pasting into the stylesheet as suggested…

    Nah, still no joy.

Should I be posting the code between the /* and the /*?

Is there something simple that I could do to enable you to see the code on my site?

Don’t put the code between /* and */; anything between those two marks is a comment and is ignored by the browser.

I checked the site today (9:33 am, Mountain time) and I see the code in your child theme’s stylesheet. Can you post a link to a specific page where something should be pink and it isn’t? I might have missed something when I wrote that code.

Thanks for coming back to me. On the home page, and any other pages, any hyperlinks and hover overs (e.g. the menu under the header) should be pink. https://heyisthatme.co.uk/
At the moment, they are still orange.

Also, anywhere that a button currently features (at the bottom of each page – not the home page), I would like to remove them. There are 3 at the bottom of the About and Contact pages, for example.

So I tried viewing the site on my mobile and the links are all pink! Hooray! Thank you.
However, it is still all orange when I view on my Macbook. Also, the buttons on the mobile site (e.g. 3 bar menu and search) are still orange when clicked. I have tried to remove all references to the orange, but still no joy.

Also, the actual button images (svg) have disappeared from widget titles on the mobile version of the site, but are still appearing when I view on my laptop.

I have tried to delete the cache on the laptop, but I still can’t get the site in pink on there.

I’m afraid I don’t know what might be happening on your laptop. This is what I see when I visit your site (12:47pm Mountain time): https://imgur.com/a/bZpCM (you can’t see the cursor in the screenshots, but you can see that the button and the link are magenta when I’m hovered over them)

Do you have another browser on your laptop, one that’s never been used to visit your site?

Oh wow! I wish it looked like that for me! OK, well that’s something, I guess. Let me try using another browser. Thanks so much for your help!

I think Chrome was the problem. Tried it in Safari and Firefox and it was all fine.

    Thank you for your help!

I have another problem with the widgets, but I’ll start another thread for that… ??
