I just set up a new website using WordPress and am manually adding posts on old items. Thus, I’d like to backdate them. The date the post was originally added (which I think is the the_date) is easily modified from the post’s edit page. Is there also a way to change the last modified date (which I think is the_modification_date)?

    Thank you.

If your question is can “I change the ‘post_modified’ or ‘post_modified_gmt’ fields?”, then you’d have to do that directly in the wp_posts table using something like phpMyAdmin.

Remember those fields will be updated everytime you modify a post.
