can I change permalink structure withour losing traffic or SERP

I am thinking of changing my permalink structure from:
https://ragingalcoholic.com/postname/
to
https://ragingalcoholic.com/category/postname/Is there anyway to do this without losing SERP or traffic?
Is there a plugin that will automatically create 301 redirects for me?
What is the best way to accomplish this? Is it really necessary?
I have been reading some posts that seem to think it is. Last year is seemed that you wanted just the post name. Is this even helpful?
