Can I change backend Login URL

    Hello,

    I only want to stop people of all countries (except Australia) from accessing the ADMIN side of my website.

    I have also installed a plugin that changes the login URL plugin of the website (THis plugin needs to stay I’m afraid)

    After installed your plugin and configuring AUSTRALIA as the only country allowed to access the backend I tested it with USA proxy and confirmed the IP was from USA.

    The custom login URL was still accessible and I could login via the proxy. Is there anyway to modify the URL that IQ Block Countries looks at.

    I tried going to the standard login URL and that seemed to work though.

    Hi,

    iQ Block Country is compatible with some of the plugins that allow you to alter the backend login url.

    Which plugin are you using?

    Hi Pascal. Thanks for replying.

    It’s called “Rename wp-login.php” and works perfect for want I need it for.

    I don’t mind changing some code if that is the only way. I tried altering some code around line 400 of “blockcountry-checks.php” but had no idea what I was doing ??

    That’s FANTASTIC – Thanks Pascal. Let me know when it’s ready ??

    This plugin is a lifesaver as I’m getting so many attempts to try and login that it’s bringing my server down with heaps of websites affected. I’ve tried everything but they are all from overseas so blocking them completely will hopefully be the answer that saves my server.

    Hi Pascal,

    I downloaded the new version 1.1.29 and made sure Australia was the only country ALLOWED to access the back end. I then used a USA proxy to try and access it. I was still able to see the login screen of my custom URL.

    If I disabled the plugin “Rename wp-login.php” then the admin was blocked as expected.

    Any ideas?

    If you use a true proxy your ip addres will still be visible. The plugin will do it’s best to detect your real ip address. So if it is available it wil detect it.
