Can I Call Widgets from Sidebar Using Code Instead of GUI?

  • I’ve got WP 2.2 installed and I tried to get some widgets up and running and they work fine. Problem is, I’d much rather just drop a simple function call into my existing (non-widgetized) sidebar than redesign the whole thing using widgets (which I tried to do with limited success). Can anybody help me out here with a way to call a widget directly from PHP sidebar template, not using the GUI provided in the admin area.
