• I made a post a few hours ago stating that I’m new to WP 4.1.1. After spending the whole day learning the interface, I discovered that the home page, or what would be the index.htm page is not editable. The page does not even show up as a page or a post.

The last time I used WP was five years ago. It was easy to use and I was able to easily modify html and css for pages. The new version 4.1.1 really sucks in this regard so as I go back to using Dreamweaver, I ask the question, what is the point of using WP to build a website?

I used WordPress years ago and it was great. However, the latest version is awful! I don’t want to learn .php to build a website. In any case, I tried building a site today and WP would not let me make changes to my home page. In fact, I could not even delete the home page and build a new one. I had to go to my server and delete the entire WP set up to reset. You don’t have to do that with Dreamweaver. In any case, I suppose WordPress is good for building simple sites with a few pages but it don’t think it is suitable for complex websites. In any case, Dreamweaver, while it has it’s problems, is much faster to design in and I can code offline. Can’t do that with WordPress.
