Can I apply the Read More tag also to pages, or only posts?

  • I’m trying to create short introductions that lead to the extended ones inside my page.
    can I use the Read More tool or must I fake it by writing”[Read More]” with a link?

    The readmore tag is only used on archives so, no, it’s not possible to use the Read More tag on pages.

    I have also tried it on Posts for the same no result.

    can you please let me know where does it work and if you know anything that can create this effect that is not ‘hard coding’ (typing ‘[Read More]’ and making it a link that is)

    Hi nirwakingapp,

    The read more is used to show a summary of a post on the recent posts page (or any general archive like tags or categories). What page are you checking to see if it works? Does it work if you temporarily change theme to a default WordPress theme?
