Can I add gallery view button to imagebrowser slideshow?

This seems like an easy thing to do, but I’m finding it very hard and not quite what others try to do with the imagebrowser option. I like the thumbnail gallery provided by the NG gallery template option, and I like that it links to a slideshow view, but I want to replace that rotating slideshow layout with the imagebrowser layout (navigation, captions, etc.). So there would be a link on the imagebrowser layout to the gallery view, and the gallery would like to “slideshow” view which is the imagebrowser template.
Let me know if this is something that can be done with the NG Gallery settings. I see some settings in Options that look like they would be perfect, but they don’t actually do anything. Version is 1.9.10.
