• This might be a stupid question but here it goes!

I have done up wordpress website for a friend that he pays hosting for the last few years. He has his own domain and hosting. He now has moved jobs and no longer required the site, although be wouldn’t mind keeping it! just wondering when the hosting runs out can he still log into WordPress and see his actual site and content????

  • No, usually he wouldn’t be able to if it’s a self hosted install of WordPress. Once hosting runs out if it’s not renewed hosting accounts are usually suspended and then deleted (including any files stored). If you want to keep the site accessible you could make a copy of the site files and export the database then and install it locally so you would just view it on the one computer it has been installed on (obviously it wouldn’t be available on the www if you did that). It’s not simple if you’re a beginner but there is a lot of information out there explaining how to do this. At least copy the files and export the database so you have a copy and then maybe later can reinstall it.
