• do the following: (free versions preferred)
    1. backup to/restore from zip/rar etc. to/from my pc among other places
    2. backup the entire website including database
    3. backup selected files/folders by date range

I have tried several plugins but can’t seem to find one that does just what I want.
Tried UpdraftPlus, BackWPup, All-in-One WP Migration, Duplicator.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

  • What from the ones you listed isn’t meeting your needs? You should be able to do most of what you are looking for with those plugins you mentioned. I guess the only thing I can see that it might not be able to do is #3 and I don’t think you’ll find a WP plugin that will do that as that’s not really what most users need.

#3 is a biggie with me. I would like to be able to backup only files/pages/etc. after a specific date. One of those I tried only allowed by month to month. Another of them generated a weird file extension I had never seen before(rather than give a choice of zip, etc.). One or more, can’t remember exactly right now, only did backup
and not restore. I’ll be honest here, I don’t like WordPress. I think it’s too complicated but I felt it necessary to convert my client’s website because of more & more people going mobile vs. desktop pc’s.
