  • MailChimp actually promotes this plug-in on their site and says they’ve tested it. Maybe they shouldn’t? https://mailchimp.com/contact/

Seems like without some better documentation and some kind of support, it shouldn’t be advertised as a premier working plugin. I’d pay for this feature, no problem, it;s valuable…but so far this has been a lot of circles.

FYI, I’m trying to use it for campaigns…I can get it to send but it’s a lot of trial an error.

Does anyone know of another plugin like this one? I’m not sure autochimp is still in development. It hasn’t been updated in over a year

Auto chimp is useful and unique, I didn’t found anything similar to Autochimp, but it has some bugs that need to be solved.
I’m looking a way to solve this bugs too…there’s someone who can help me?
I’d pay for your help, thanks.

    Hi all,

I am the developer of MailChimp for WordPress and have just released an add-on for it which might be useful to you.

It’s called MailChimp Sync and essentially does the same as AutoChimp, albeit using MailChimp’s newer API among other much-needed improvements.

In case you’ll try it – let me know if you run into anything. ??

    Hi Danny,

AutoChimp automatically sends MailChimp emails after a blog post has been created. MailChimp Sync only syncs the users on both sides. So it’s completely different. Sadly.

You can actually use the “RSS-Driven Campaign” inside MailChimp. It sends new content by email based on your sites RSS feed.

    Hi @jschaller,

Yep, that’s exactly what I was about to post here and the reason I did not include that in a “Synchronisation” plugin. If you were using AutoChimp mainly for its ability to send an email after each post then I recommend using an RSS-driven campaign instead, yes.

MailChimp KB: Create a RSS-driven campaign.

    Hi,

It would be nice to be able to send email. RSS driven campaign doesn’t work for private content.

Hi @jschaller and @danny van Kooten,

Mailchimp RSS campaigns are great, but are limited to one set time each day. It would be great to send immediately.

Unless I’m misunderstanding, according to the MailChimp video, you can choose to send immediately. See at 1:20 on https://kb.mailchimp.com/campaigns/rss-in-campaigns/create-an-rss-driven-campaign

“…to send the campaign right away, then send it scheduled the next time it’s triggered.”

So only when you create the campaign can it be sent immediately, all the following will be scheduled.

@caroline – That’s my issue with the RSS campaigns, as well. Would love to see a major upgrade or replacement for Autochimp that includes syncronization and automatic sending of posts (while also supporting sending the same campaign to multiple lists, etc). Currently, Autochimp is working fine for me, but I’ve made some code adjustments to make that happen.

@danny – I have a feeling there would definitely be a market for a solid AutoChimp replacement, by the way. I’d probably even pay a little for that.

Agreeing with the above calls for an AutoChimp replacement or further development. It has additional functionality that RSS driven campaigns do not provide, and we’ve had clients request that functionality on more than one occasion.
