• Hi there

I’m hoping if you can help me please.
I’ve spent hours on google and this site trying to figure out what’s going on, and while it looks like people have had similar issues I couldn’t find any exactly the same as mine that had been resolved.

I updated my site https://www.onetravelsfar.com to the newest version of wordpress the other day, and updated some plug-ins at the same time. All was fine until I went to log in to my admin today-onetravelsfar.com/admin.
In Google I get the error message “No data received”, and IE gives me “this page cannot be displayed”. Basically it won’t even load it.
When I try https://onetravelsfar.com/wp-admin/post.php it just gives me a white screen.

I usually just use wordpress to do everything within my site, which is bad I know and I’m planning to learn more about the back end but haven’t had the time.
If you could help me out it would be much appreciated, especially if you could explain it as simply as possible since I’m not exactly the greatest at this stuff.

    Thanks so much!

No new themes, but was playing around with plugins. My main concern is being able to log in though.

with ftp client rename your plugins folder to plugins-old

Ok but will that break my plugins or anything?

all of your plugin will be deactivated, if one of the plugin making
the problem you don’t have manu choices.

Thanks for that, I’m in now. So what should I do now? Is there any way to figure out which plugin is causing the problem? Also, is it ok to leave my plugin folder renamed?

maybe it’s old version of a specific plugin so you can start download each plugin by name from the wordpress panel….but you need to check and refresh pages after each plugin install to verify.

I am new to WordPress and using the 2013 theme. It seems like the widgets that I created on the home page are showing up on all the pages in the site. Is there a way to change the content of the sidebar area on some of the pages? Like put different info in the widgets on different pages? Even a way to delete the widgets on a certain page if I want a one column page?
Please someone help, I am going crazy!

I am sorry I interrupted someone posts.
I looked around but do not know how to start my own question thread.

    Hey guys
Thanks for the advice. I activated what I considered to be the most necessary plugins and my site was working great. Now I go to the admin panel and get the white screen of death. My homepage loads incredibly slow and when I click a post I get a hostgator error message that says

ERROR 500 – INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
Why am I seeing this page?

Is there anything that I can do?

    Understanding Filesystem Permissions

How to modify your .htaccess file

How to modify file and directory permissions

When I try to get into my hostgator control panel it won’t load either. The whole things stuffed and I have no idea what to do. Can anyone help me?
