• Hi Vladimir,
I need to allow one of my users to edit the posts of another specific user (not any post). Is it possible with your plugin? If yes, with the standard version or the pro one?
    Cheers

    Hi,

It’s possible with the Pro version:
    https://www.role-editor.com/allow-user-edit-selected-posts/
1st, you allow to the user edit_others_posts.
2nd, you restrict him to edit post just of the selected author by that author user ID.

    Hi Vladimir,
    Thanks for your reply.
I bought the pro version and followed the post workflow. However, whane I’m on a user page, I enter an author ID and hit the “save” button”. The modification is not saved: there is no user ID in the dedicated field.
    Any idea why?
    Cheer,
    Geraldine

    Hi Geraldine,

It could be a conflict with some other plugin. If it’s possible try to deactivate all plugins except URE Pro and re-test. If that will help, activating plugins back one by one may help to isolate a problematic code.

I offer to send questions related to the Pro version to the dedicated forum.

    Hi Vladimir,

Just in case some people get the same issue: it was not a compatibility issue but a format one.
I entered a string in the ID field whereas an int was expected. In the French version, the username is translated into “identifier” which was causing the misunderstanding…

    Cheers,

    Geraldine

    Hi Geraldine,

Thanks for sharing this experience. I confirm, the integer user ID value is expected in this field.
