Campaign Monitor API

We’re having problems getting the API code to be verified/accepted with Campaign Monitor.
I’m assuming it’s the specific Campaign Monitor Client API ID needed to be entered in the field, but when we try to connect/verify it doesn’t work.
Any ideas?
