Calling tinymce editors for text boxes was a breeze in wp 3.2 if you used the theme functions file. I used it to call tinymce editor for category descriptions, an enhanced author profile description box and others.

The functions call method does not work in WordPress 3.3. Is there a new way of calling tinymce for text boxes in the update? I have updated to the latest version of advanced tinymce plugin in case that was the problem but it wasn’t.

I’ve reverted back to wp 3.2 until I can figure out a way of bringing tinymce back to text-boxes.

    thanks
    kevin

    There were some changes.

Please read https://wpdevel.wordpress.com/ – I remember Nacin went over that recently. Also check the alpha/beta forum, as someone had that exact problem.

thanks for pointing me in right direction.

I’ve been able to insert the tnymce but after I save the content I get the html showing in the visual editor and when I resave it it then shows in the published post.

I can not seem to find anything – apart from javascript conflicts – about why html should display when using the wp-editor api.

Anyone know if there are security updates associated with 3.3. If not I’ll stick with 3.2 as it works like a charm for what I need.

    thanks

There aren’t security issues YET, but you know there will be eventually and 3.2 won’t get the fixes. May as well spin up a dev version of WP to work this out in. I’m pretty sure it’s because they tweaking how the enquing worked for this.

Yeah I may do that in the New Year

It’s too close to Christmas for me to play about with my wordpress shops.

After the sales I’ll sit down and try and work through it. It might also be the kick I need to write up my own store plugin instead of just hacking over peoples plugins.

    thanks gain
