  • I’m getting the same error. New API – checked it several times. No luck.

We need to get ahold of the developer, methinks.

I will sheepishly admit that as I dug around to try and figure out what is happening, the help information (scroll to the right on your settings page) states that in order to view private photos:

    “Important Note about Private Photos:
To access your private photos from Flickr, make sure that your App’s authentication type is set to Web Application and the Callback URL points to https://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/”

If you go to Flickr, this is under “Edit the Authentication Flow” of your App where you generated the API.

Hopefully this will work for you too!

You fixed it earely. Thanks so much!

BTW, the user id is NOT the same as your flickr login id… Found that out the hard way as well.

Sorry, ERAELY, not earely. Fat finget ;>)

Anybody able to walk me through this, I’m having a bad day and just like a child I would like to feel I have achieved something for all my hours of work today to make me feel good. Pretty please.

To go back to my problem above, when I grant access, when in the WordPress – Plug ins – Flickr Gallery Settings, it takes me to my flickr page, so must be a fault in Flickr, I think. Trying, very…

Stevie, You need to go into flickr API admin page (your app garden) and fill in the callback url field with your website admin link:

    I.e. https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin

New apis default to Web Application, so I don’t think you have to worry about that one.

The other gotcha I found is the id is NOT your flickr login id, it’s the app id flickr generates for you. It’s a fairly long number.

    Hope this helps.

I’m trying to set up this plug-in, but I’m getting the same problems with not getting the valid callback URL. I set up an app in Flickr expressly for using this plug-in, so I have the correct API Key and Secret. I also have put the correct callback URL in the proper place in the Flickr app authentication flow. So the problem must be with the Flickr User ID.

It is not my Flickr screen name, or the email address I use to log in to Yahoo/Flickr. I cannot find the “fairly long number” mentioned above, though I have a vague recollection of one. Any ideas?

Also, of course, I just updated to 3.9. This is all in my sandbox site, before I take it to the rest of my sites.

Duh, posting in a resolved topic. OK, started a new topic.
