    We updated our site to WooCommerce 7.1.1 today after waiting a week or so before applying it and had WooCommerce fail to reactivate or fail to install correctly. After upgrading this plugin the admin console failed to load, and all WooCommerce functions failed to load. It appears that the plugin was deactivated during install—as expected—but failed to reactivate. Reloading & rolling back the plugin through FTP to the previous version—7.1.0—failed to solve this/allow the admin console to load. We ended up rolling back the entire install with a full site backup.

    This was the only error message we received after the failed update:

    Call to undefined function wcdrfc_fs()

    It would be nice if Woo could dump a log when errors are encountered during the update process that could be accessed outside of the admin pages. Have any advice on what the error means and how we can ensure that we’re not having to roll the site back or debug a giant list of plugins with the next WooCommerce update?

    Hello @ic3dclaudio,

    Call to undefined function wcdrfc_fs()

    I wasn’t able to find this function in both the WooCommerce or WordPress repository.

    Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    As for logging errors outside the admin area, you can check the following guide: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-find-and-access-wordpress-error-logs-step-by-step/

    Look forward to hearing back from you.

    It’s been a while since you responded, so I’m marking this as resolved – we’ll be here if/when you need us.

    We’ve skipped that release and should it happen again we’ll dump the logs.

    Thanks!
