    Hello,

I just uploaded the wordpress files to my site to start work on it.

    irasitepreview.com/altumaxis

When I try to login I got the following error message.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: set_current_screen() in…
    /html/preview/altumaxis/wp-admin/admin.php on line 129

So I can’t login to do anything. When I downloaded the latest version from www.remarpro.com, I unzipped the file on my desktop and then had two folders….

one was called just “WordPress” and the other was called “WordPress 2”

I uploaded the contents of the folder titled “WordPress” and left “WordPress 2” on the desktop

Could that have caused the problem??? Sorry, I’m new to this, so any help would be greatly appreciated… as I am at a standstill now.

    Thank you,

  • Where did you download WordPress from? There should only be a single folder in the unzipped archive – wordpress (lowercase).

OK, well I downloaded it from www.remarpro.com

The folder I uploaded is “wordpress” all lowercase… sorry I typed it wrong in the first post… oops

Maybe the wordpress 2 folder on my desktop is a copy of the wordpress folder since I maybe already had it on my desktop from a previous intall (a previous website I built, and I didn’t delete the folder from my desktop… I’m on a mac)

so maybe I should have uploaded the wordpress 2 if it is the folder I just downloaded from www.remarpro.com…. hmmmmmm, which means it would be the latest wordpress version..

    does that make sense?

Delete all copies on your machine, download a fresh copy of WordPress and upload a fresh set of files & folder.

    Yeah… ok…

I just checked the source code and it says I’m running

    WordPress 2.8.4

so I guess I uploaded the old folder version that has been sitting on my desktop doing nothing for months….

OOPS!!! I’ll start over I guess…. thanks for help… hope I’m not back here again in an hour.

2.8.4! Well, that might well cause some problems ??
