Call to undefined function error

  • Hi, I hope someone can help

    I have WP 3.01 running 7 sites ( two of them archived for now) and it’s been a breeze to use-very impressed with WordPress!!

    I am having trouble with the first site which gives me the following error
    when I try to go to the backend or visit the site.I don’t have this problem with the other sites.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /home4/stocast1/public_html/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1059

    Any pointers gratefully received

    Just to add I had just updated my plugins but I only had one running. I de-activated this plugin in case this was the problem but I have seen no change to the error.
